Justworks Partners With Angel City Football Club to Level the Playing Field for Women in Business and Sports

The partnership supports former women’s soccer players starting their own businesses in Los Angeles and beyond

NEW YORK (January 31, 2024)  – Justworks today announced a new partnership with Angel City Football Club (ACFC). Justworks and ACFC are committed to empowering women–Justworks in entrepreneurship and ACFC in sports. Justworks joins the club as a Founding Level Partner and the club’s Official Payroll, HR Compliance, and HR Benefits Sponsor.

Building upon Justworks’ existing social impact programs like Justworks.org and the Spring Forward Fund, 10% of Justworks’ sponsorship will be allocated to providing grants and valuable support to former athletes and future entrepreneurs through Angel City’s Player 22 Future Program. The partnership will also materialize through additional community building initiatives like a Small Business Training Camp, Community Workshops, and Local Small Business Storytelling.

“ACFC is delighted to welcome Justworks into the ACFC family and looks forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on our community,” said Julie Uhrman, Co-Founder and President of ACFC. “With the additional programming and opportunities around this particular partnership, we are going to be helping aspiring entrepreneurs as well as supporting our incredible Player 22 Future Program.”

Justworks currently provides payroll, HR tools, benefits, and compliance support to over 11,000 small businesses nationwide, and more than 700 in Southern California. In partnering with ACFC, the company will continue to foster a dynamic ecosystem of small businesses in Los Angeles and beyond, providing them with the platform and support they need to run and grow their businesses with confidence.

“At Justworks, we envision a world where starting and running a business is accessible for all,” says Lauren Yildirim, VP and Chief of Staff at Justworks. “There’s a lot of alignment between our mission and ACFC’s ongoing commitment to equity, access, and leveling the playing field for women in sports and business. We’re excited to be partnering with ACFC and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together through the Player 22 program and beyond.”
