Justworks Launches New Standalone Payroll Product to Help All Small Businesses Grow With Confidence

Justworks Payroll serves more types of small businesses with a lightweight and flexible solution

NEW YORK - JULY 11, 2023 Justworks, a technology company that levels the playing field for all small businesses, today announced Justworks Payroll, a lightweight and flexible solution that simplifies payroll and HR processes, helps employers onboard and manage their teams and surfaces information relevant to maintaining compliance. With Payroll, Justworks can serve more types of small businesses, like sole proprietorships, as well as more industries like hospitality, “main street” businesses (e.g. flower shops and coffee shops), manufacturing, and more.

Justworks Payroll is the Company’s first new standalone product since it launched its Professional Employer Organization (PEO) in 2012. By building a tech-forward, intuitive and easy-to-use PEO with 24/7 human support, Justworks disrupted a legacy industry and now serves over 10,000 U.S.-based customers operating in predominantly desk-based, white-collar industries (like technology and professional services). Yet, this number represents only a fraction of the small businesses who would benefit from Justworks’ signature blend of software and partnership nationwide. For the first time, Justworks Payroll brings the company’s award-winning support and software to small businesses without the PEO’s co-employment model.

“Historically, we've focused on a single product—our PEO—and perfecting it for talent-centric and geographically distributed businesses who tend to be a great fit for the PEO’s co-employment model,” says Justworks’ President and CEO Mike Seckler. “Over the years, as word spread within the entrepreneurial community, businesses in other industries or those with more diverse payroll, HR, and compliance needs have come to us looking for the Justworks experience. While they might not be a fit for our PEO product, they too deserve a tech-forward platform, high-touch support and a partner who truly understands their needs. We are thrilled to expand our offering with Justworks Payroll to support a broader range of small businesses as the partner they’ve always deserved but never before had access to.”

Features like integrated access to open market insurance and benefits, custom work weeks, and cash tips will become available soon. Justworks helps companies run and grow their businesses with confidence. While this product is suitable for small businesses with lightweight payroll needs, being a part of the Justworks platform provides flexibility as businesses evolve and grow (including easy transition capabilities to Justworks PEO, access to new integrations and features, when available, and more).

Justworks Payroll is available today in 11 states & the District of Columbia, with plans to expand to all 50 states soon. The solution costs $10 per month plus $5 per employee per month.
