High Priestess of Brooklyn

In a story many can probably relate to, I started my business — High Priestess of Brooklyn — as a side hustle while working a typical 9-5 job. In what I can only describe as divine timing, my astrological advisory business became fully operational in 2019 and I was set up to serve my clients during the collective existential crisis in 2020.

As High Priestess of Brooklyn, I consult individuals and small businesses on solving real-world problems intuitively. I began working with individuals on personal matters, but, over time, saw the value in expanding to help founders navigate the ups and downs of running a business by applying the energetic principles in astrology and universal laws (like the Law of Attraction). I eventually launched my Manifestation for Business Advisory, or M.B.A., program to help leaders set goals, develop communications and marketing strategies, time launches (and relaunches), pitch potential clients, and even create content — which leads me to today.

How Astrology Can Solve Business Problems

Not everyone can readily see the value of astrology in business. For the more skeptical folks, consider these anecdotes:

  • As a former recruiter and the unofficial Office Oracle, nearly all the offers I extended during a Mercury Retrograde period (an infamously challenging time to sign contracts) either needed to be renegotiated, or the employee we hired ended up leaving the company soon after.

  • I helped an education platform successfully hire a handful of executives in 2022 using astrological archetypes to attract the best matches for each role.

  • I advised a New York City-based skincare brand on adopting a nurturing investment strategy to support their business. The result? They just closed their Series A round with a number of notable female investors and advisors.

  • My recent piece on Mars Retrograde (a planetary transit known for causing slowdowns and frustrations, especially on social media), went viral on Tiktok due to dramatic outcries in the comments — typical!

If you still need convincing, I’ve got plenty more where those came from. But for those already on board, I’m here with astrological advice for the upcoming month. As an entrepreneur myself, I get how busy we all are — so let’s cut to the chase.

Astrological Basics

Before we dive into the forecast, here’s a quick run-down to get you up to speed.

The Sun and Moon are considered luminaries in astrology. What does this mean?

  • They highlight general overt and subconscious moods of the time (respectively).

  • The Sun moves into a new sign every 30 days or so, at the mid-end of the month.

  • The Moon moves into a new sign every few days, cycling through all 12 astrological signs in roughly 28 days.

The planets — Mercury (which you’ve probably heard of), Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto — also impact us, and we track them for predictive astrology. These planets move on a cycle that we perceive and track from Earth.

  • They either move directly, or in retrograde — an optical illusion of a planet moving backward from our perspective.

  • Planets moving in retrograde have a reputation for slowing us down, but they also present great opportunities to review and revisit past projects and partnerships.

  • In a rare occurrence, all planets are moving in a direct path for the entire month of February, March, and most of April this year. This means that momentum will be moving at an all-time high, boosting inspired creativity.

There are 12 astrological signs (or constellations) that all of the above luminaries and planets can be in for a period of time: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

You’re probably familiar with at least some of these, but did you know that the signs can be further categorized? These categorizations can help us identify their style.

Each sign is associated with an element:

  • Fire signs are associated with high intensity, passion, and action (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)

  • Earth signs are typically grounded, resourceful, and purposeful (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)

  • Air signs can be sharp, intellectual, and social (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)

  • Water signs are generally in-flow, intuitive, and empathic (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

Each sign is also associated with a constitution:

  • Cardinal signs tend to be efficient initiators (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)

  • Fixed signs are more structured and have greater endurance (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)

  • Mutable signs can be adaptable and spontaneous (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

Now that you’ve got the basics under your belt, it’s time for the forecast!

Astrological Outlook for February 18 - March 16

On Saturday, February 18, the Sun entered the sign of Pisces. What does this mean?

  • The Sun moving into the mutable water sign of Pisces (the last sign in the zodiac), signifies a time to pick up on themes from the ether, connect with your raison d’etre, and explore creative expression.

  • For the next month, you might want to pull inspiration from industries outside of your own, and blast music through your speakers to help you think (or daydream).

On Monday, February 20, we had a New Moon in Pisces, and Venus entered Aries. What does this mean?

  • New moons (when the sun and moon are directly next to each other) are excellent times to plant seeds of new intentions.

  • With Pisces being a highly empathetic and artistic sign, this could be a fantastic time to gather feedback from your customers or clients on your product or service.

  • Venus, which rules design and aesthetics, moves into the cardinal fire sign of Aries until March 16. This means it would also be an excellent time to engage with a creative agency. The vibes are good.

On Thursday, March 2, Mercury enters Pisces. What does this mean?

  • Mercury is the fastest-moving planet and represents how we think and communicate. It will be in the dreamy sign of Pisces for just a couple of weeks, which indicates a spacey, nebulous time.

  • Try to ride the waves of inspiration and leave lots of extra time in the calendar to run with your creative impulses as they strike.

On Tuesday, March 7, we have a Full Moon in Virgo, and Saturn enters Pisces. What does this mean?

  • This is a big day in the cosmos! Full moons occur when the Sun and Moon are opposite in the sky, and they tend to heighten emotions and the need to release.

  • Full moons can be a great time to reap benefits and rewards, and see the fruits of your labor. As such, full moons can also be awesome launch dates.

  • This particular moon highlights boundaries that may need to be established or demolished.

  • Saturn in Pisces, however, is a much bigger deal. Saturn moves into a new sign once every 2.5 years and takes a full 29-30 years to cycle through all 12 astrological signs.

  • Saturn represents structure and direction in our society, and considering Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, it indicates a time to incorporate lessons from the previous 30 years.

  • For a deeper dive into what themes come up while Saturn is in Pisces, check out this piece from Nylon.

While there are more planetary shifts I could note for this season, let’s end it here so you can fully digest everything outlined above. If you have questions about how these transits work, or how they might affect you personally or professionally, feel free to connect with me!
