Meal & Rest Laws

In Wisconsin, only employees 18 or under are entitled to 30-minute meal breaks if they work six consecutive hours. Wisconsin follows federal regulations and doesn’t require employers to offer employees rest periods.

Lactation Accommodation Laws

In Wisconsin, employers must provide employees with reasonable breaks to pump breast milk in a private place other than a bathroom with access to an electrical outlet, running water, and a refrigerator for breast milk storage for a year after childbirth. Employers with less than 50 employees may be exempt if they can demonstrate that upholding these requirements would cause undue hardship to their business.
