Customizable Work Days: Flexibility for Your Team Image

We’re excited to announce a new feature designed to give you and your team more flexibility in managing PTO: Custom Work Days! 

What’s new?

With Justworks, you can tailor your PTO management to how your business operates. With custom work days, you can define the days each employee typically works within a 7-day span–unlocking weekend PTO, 4-day workweeks, or whatever combination your business needs. No more guesswork or workarounds, just clear and accurate setup and tracking for a more flexible time off experience. 

Plus, we’ve made a few enhancements to our PTO request flow. Now, you’ll have the flexibility to request time off in days or hours. Need to request a partial day? No problem! You’ll now see and be able to edit a day-by-day breakdown of the PTO you’re requesting within a given date range (including Saturday or Sunday if those are set as work days).

  • Keep your entire organization in sync. Setup for custom work days is simple and quick–during onboarding or in an employee’s profile, all in Justworks. Employees and managers can view work days and only request PTO on days they typically work, including a more detailed breakdown of when that PTO will take effect.

  • Effortless administration for diverse workforces. Streamline PTO management no matter what your workforce looks like. Customize work days for individual employees on any day of the week while maintaining existing PTO accrual logic, regardless of who works when across different employee types. 

  • Empower teams with accurate tracking. No more workarounds with clear definitions of work days and straightforward, accurate tracking of PTO–down to the day, hour, or even the minute. This ensures you and your employees know where they stand with their time off.
