Hello and welcome to Changelog, your roundup of everything new in Justworks. This week, we launched a new Timecard enhancement that automatically calculates overtime for your non-exempt employees based on federal and state laws.

Introducing automated overtime calculations

Admins and managers with the “Manage Timecards’’ permission can navigate to the Timecards tab to find the new “Calculate overtime” button. With one click of a button, eligible hours will automatically shift to the overtime row, based on federal and state overtime laws.

This enhancement reduces the manual work needed to review Timecards and eliminates the mental math required when determining overtime hours for your non-exempt employees. To keep things simple and easy, these federal and state overtime laws are set up for you and automatically applied based on your employees’ work location — no setup required.
