As per provisions of Shops and Establishment Ordinance, 1969 standard working hours are maximum nine hours a day and 48 hours a week.

The 48-hour weekly limit also applies to shops, commercial establishments, and mines. Reduced working hours must be observed during Ramadan for the country’s manufacturing, commercial, and services industries.
